Senior Technical Implementation Consultant

Role Description

The Senior Technical Implementation Consultant will lead the technical delivery of complex client implementations, from discovery and solution design through to data migration, configuration, testing and go-live.

Working within the Product Delivery team, the role will act as a trusted technical partner to clients, translating business, system and data requirements into practical, scalable solutions. A key focus will be strengthening PlainSail’s data migration capability through improved methodologies, tooling, automation and standards, while working closely with Client Strategy, Development and Support to improve both implementation delivery and the wider product.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of customer implementations, including data migration, product configuration, testing and technical readiness for go-live.
• Lead technical conversations directly with customers, translating their existing systems, data and business processes into an effective implementation approach.
• Own the technical approach and delivery of complex customer data migrations, including data analysis, mapping, transformation, validation and reconciliation.
• Use Microsoft SQL Server / SQL extensively to investigate, transform and validate customer data.
• Develop and contribute to production-grade migration tooling, scripts and automation, including using C#/.NET where appropriate.
• Own decisions relating to migration tooling and technical approaches, including evaluating build-vs-buy opportunities and selecting appropriate tools and technologies.
• Drive the continuous improvement of migration processes, tooling and standards, making customer migrations more efficient, repeatable and reliable.
• Apply strong knowledge of the company's industry and business domain to understand customer requirements, identify migration risks and develop appropriate solutions.
• Configure the product to reflect customer business processes and requirements, working closely with customers to achieve the desired outcome.
• Lead technical testing, data validation and reconciliation, and progressively take ownership of technical readiness through UAT and go-live.
• Identify recurring customer, data and implementation issues and feed these back into Product Delivery to improve the product and implementation approach.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to other Technical Implementation Consultants as the team grows.

Experience, Skills & Characteristics

• Significant experience delivering complex software implementation, data migration or technical consulting projects.
• Advanced SQL skills, ideally using Microsoft SQL Server, including querying, data analysis, transformation and reconciliation.
• Strong experience designing and delivering data migrations involving complex, inconsistent or incomplete source data.
• Experience developing migration tooling, scripts or automation. Experience with C#/.NET would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation and data quality principles.
• Experience working directly with clients through technical discovery, solution design, testing and go-live.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into technical and product configuration requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical and data issues and develop practical solutions.
• Experience working across technical and non-technical teams to deliver successful client outcomes.
• Experience within trust, corporate services, fiduciary, fund administration or a related financial-services environment would be advantageous.
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring to other team members would be beneficial.
• Pragmatic and solution-focused, balancing technical quality with implementation timelines and client outcomes.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively across Product Delivery, Development, Client Strategy and Support.
• Comfortable providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on with implementation and data challenges.
• Calm and methodical when working through complex issues or under delivery pressure.
