A complete refresh

Every detail, reconsidered.

From a single dashboard to the deepest accounting workflow, PlainSail 2.0 feels more focused, more consistent and easier to navigate.

700+

views. One experience. A comprehensive redesign across the PlainSail application.

Trust and corporate administration is complex. The software you use every day shouldn’t add to it.

The new dashboard

One dashboard. Five views of your day.

The new PlainSail dashboard brings My Work, Team Time, Debtors, WIP and Recovery together in one place.

01 / Clarity at a glance

See the whole picture.

Understand financial performance without losing the detail. Refined Recovery, Debtors and WIP dashboards bring key measures, trends and supporting records together in one coherent view.

Every tab links straight through to its full report.

The Recovery tab with May 2026 selected: a tooltip shows 100.5% recovery against 95.8% last year, and the client table and recovery by team narrow to that month.

02 / Less noise. More momentum.

Your work, in focus.

All your work. One queue.

Approvals, tasks, workflows and follow-ups, brought into a single clear queue. See what needs your attention and move directly into the work.

Act in bulk, snooze or skip with undo, and read the detail without leaving the list.

My Work, a single queue of workflow steps, tasks, signing requests and invoice approvals, with a payment approval for The Beechwood Trust open in the detail pane.

03 / Considered throughout

Built for the details.

A cleaner visual language extends across complex views as well as simple ones. Subtle hierarchy, familiar workflows and consistent interactions make everyday work feel more effortless.

Team Time shows your hours, utilisation and where the time went, one click from My Work.

The This week panel, opened from My work: 39h 15m logged against 37h 30m expected, 96% utilisation against a 75% target, chargeable time, a daily breakdown and the time mix.

04 / Cash flow in view

Stay ahead of what’s owed.

Total outstanding, ageing and debtor days at a glance, with your top debtors and a breakdown by team.

Open a client to see their outstanding invoices and add a note, without leaving the dashboard.

The Debtors tab, with total outstanding, over-90-day and debtor-day measures, debtors by month-end, billed versus collected, ageing bands, top debtors and one client’s outstanding invoices.

05 / Work in progress

Nothing left unbilled.

Unbilled WIP, ageing and WIP days at a glance, with an approvals pipeline from first approver to invoice, and project budgets you can see filling up.

Open a client to follow its WIP approval step by step.

The WIP tab, with unbilled WIP, over-90-day and WIP-day measures, WIP by month-end, recorded versus invoiced, the approvals pipeline, and one client’s WIP approval from request to invoice.

Workflows, elevated

Every workflow, brought to life.

Workflows run the heart of a trust business: client reviews, risk assessments, payments and approvals. In PlainSail 2.0, any step can be configured to show richly formatted guidance, with tables and charts drawn from your PlainSail data. Here are two examples.

The Show Transaction Profile step of an example Make Payment workflow for Beechwood Limited, configured to show a GBP 18,500 payment request, the account position before and after the payment, outgoings in the last 12 months at 87% of the expected GBP 1,400,000 a year, 613 payments and the largest single payment, payments out by month as columns and by category as bars, and a table of the largest recent payments, above Confirm and Abandon buttons.
An example Make Payment step, configured to show the account position and payment history before you confirm.
The Review and approve fees step of an example Annual Fee Review workflow for The Beechwood Trust, configured to show a summary of 5 entities, 1,228 hours recorded in 2026 to date, GBP 46,624 of work in progress and the next fee review date, a table of fees and time for each entity totalling GBP 247,621, a fee mix donut chart, a monthly billing sparkline and a link to the Jersey Financial Services Commission register, above reviewer comments and Approve fees and Return for changes buttons.

Straight from your data.

Configure a step to pull figures from PlainSail when it runs, so nothing is retyped.

Figures drawn into an annual fee review step: 5 entities in the group, 1,228 hours recorded in 2026 to date, GBP 46,624 of work in progress not yet invoiced and the next fee review due 18 March 2027, above a table of fees for each of the five entities.

Charts that speak plainly.

Bars, columns, progress, sparklines and donuts, right where the decision is made.

A column chart of payments out by month over the last 12 months, in GBP thousands, above horizontal bars of payments out by category, led by dividends and distributions at GBP 437,102.

Targets that speak up.

Set a threshold. If something falls short, you’ll see it.

A progress bar showing outgoings in the last 12 months at 87% of the expected GBP 1,400,000 a year, above 613 payments against an expected 650 and a largest single payment of GBP 37,035.

Built for sign-off.

Every decision is recorded alongside what was approved.

The record on a completed workflow step: completed by Tom Le Brocq at 22/10/2026 08:31, with the decision Submit for Review. Approve fees and Return for changes buttons at the foot of a workflow step.

Clear guidance at every step.

Bring instructions, supporting information and approvals together within your workflows. Richly formatted content makes it easier for everyone to understand what’s required and what happens next.

  • Client reviews. Clear instructions for every reviewer.

  • Risk assessments. What to check, and why it matters.

  • Payments. The supporting detail, right beside the request.

  • Approvals. Who signs off, and in what order.

As flexible as ever. Now brilliantly clear.

One consistent frame

Everything within reach.

A single navy bar runs across every screen, holding navigation, search, notifications and your theme, so the essentials are always in the same place.

A PlainSail entity profile inside the navy top bar, with the ribbon, profile summary and activity cards.
